You can pay for your travel money using an M&S Credit Card. There are no cash advance fees for using your M&S Card and up to 55 days interest-free credit if you pay your account off in full. Typical 15.9% APR variable.
In the M&S Bureau De Change
You can pay for your travel money in our M&S Bureau de Change with cash or most major credit and debit cards including Visa, MasterCard, Solo, Visa Debit, Electron or Maestro.
Please note that if you pay by credit or debit card you may be charged a cash advance fee by the card issuer. (Remember you will not be charged these fees with an M&S Credit Card). Please remember that if you purchase travel money instore using any credit or debit card and for certain cash transactions, we’ll need to see a valid passport, full driving licence or national ID card.
There is a high risk of card fraud where a delivery is made to an address other than the billing address. It is therefore in your interest that we deliver to the billing address.
If you have bought a travellers cheque for someone else to use (only available by calling us) then you should ensure they sign the travellers cheque as soon as possible after you receive it. Until signed the travellers cheque will not be refundable if lost or stolen.
Our rates are updated daily and it is our philosophy to remain highly competitive and offer commission-free with excellent exchange rates. Due to changes in the currency markets, exchange rates may vary during the day.
You can buy your currency abroad, but remember that business hours and National holidays are not the same in other countries, so banks may be closed when you expect them to be open. When exchange facilities are available at an airport, the rates are often less competitive and queues may also be a problem. For peace of mind, it is better to change money before you go, giving you one less thing to worry about and leaving you free to enjoy your holiday.
There may be charges when using cash machines abroad. With an M&S Credit Card, there is usually a 2.99% handling fee, with interest being charged from day one. Debit card users can be charged a handling fee and there may even be a fee for using certain cash machines. See your credit/debit card issuers terms and conditions for the charges made when using your card abroad.
Should you wish to cancel your order you can call us on 0800 363 484. If your order has already been dispatched we are unable to accept your cancellation. Orders are dispatched throughout the day to Royal Mail so unless your cancellation is within a few hours of placing your order it is unlikely that a cancellation will be accepted.
Royal Mail will post a note through your door informing you of the address of the nearest Royal Mail office to collect it, or to contact them for them to redeliver.
Yes, we provide a commission-free buy back facility for all our customers. If you purchased currency over the internet or by telephone any unused notes can be returned to us by Royal Mail Special Delivery and we will refund the card account that you originally used to purchase your currency using the buy back exchange rate on the date of receipt.
Alternatively you can exchange your unused notes at your nearest M&S Bureau de Change and we will buy them back at the prevailing buy back rate on that day. Please note that we only buy back currencies in the denominations that we sell. We do not buy back coins. You can place any of your foreign money or coins in our Change4Change box instore and we’ll donate it to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
In order to safeguard your security, each order goes through several security checks. If these checks are successful then your order will be approved. You will receive a confirmation email detailing when your order will be delivered to your home address and your account properly charged. If the checks are unsuccessful, then your order will be declined and we will contact you. For security reasons we are not allowed to provide specific reasons for an order being declined.
All orders are insured against loss by the Royal Mail. If there is sufficient time to redeliver your currency we will do so, otherwise we will give you a full refund (inclusive of any postage charge made to you).
In the unlikely event that you do not receive your currency before you leave we will give you a full refund (inclusive of postage) upon receipt of the currency back from you.
Please remember to order your currency in plenty of time, ideally no less than 3 working days before your date of travel.
