You are here:
From password protection to advanced encryption technology, we use the very latest security measures to keep your personal details and your money safe.
When you fill in one of our online forms, your details are stored securely on our site. You can see you’re in a secure area when the web address starts with https:// and there’s a closed padlock in the bottom right corner of your screen.
We use the most advanced encryption technology to stop anyone accessing the information that passes from your computer to our secure systems. We also use firewalls – and our anti-virus software is updated by the minute to stay ahead of new security risks.
If you have registered for My Money Accounts, we'll always ask you to enter your username, password and the answer you’ve given to a personal question. This information tells us that it’s you (and no one else) requesting access to your account. We ensure that you can only use strong passwords that must have a mix of letters and numbers. This makes it difficult for anyone to guess your password.
If you forget to log out of your account, the session will end automatically – so your details aren’t left on your computer.
After repeated unsuccessful attempts to enter your username, password and memorable answer, we’ll suspend online access to your account – just in case someone else is trying to log in. You can reactivate your account by calling us on 0800 363 459 (calls may be recorded).
