Motorists flirt, romance and more in their cars

A Confused.com survey has revealed that most car insurance policy holders are also using their car as a place to romance their partners or to argue with loved ones.

The finance portal has reported that Britain's motorists are likely to indulge in amorous in-car activities, even when they should be focussing firmly on the road ahead.

24 per cent of male drivers and 18 per cent of female drivers surveyed by the portal confessed to flirting with another motorist, while 47.5 per cent of men and 30 per cent of women polled admitted to having had an in-car tryst.

Car insurance policy holders in Brighton were most likely to have had sex in a parked vehicle, while motorists in Worcester were the least likely to do so.

And motorists told the finance portal that Audi drivers - male and female - were typically the sexiest car owners, with male BMW drivers and female Mini Cooper drivers coming a close second.

However, many car owners were just as likely to hold arguments or end romantic relationships while driving or when in a parked car.

60 per cent of men and 63 per cent of women surveyed told the finance portal that they regularly have heated arguments with loved ones in their car. 10 per cent of men and 8 per cent of women also confessed to dumping a romantic partner while in a car.

According to the finance portal, the car wasn't only revealed as a place popular for romance or arguments - as 73 per cent of men and 76 per cent of women said they regularly ate in their car, while 42 per cent of men and 29 per cent of women said they often napped in their car.
