Yes. Our policies are flexible so you can mix and match to suit your needs.
This is the first part of any claim that you will be expected to pay in the event of a claim and it may vary depending on the type of policy. The more excess you accept, the better value the policy. In both Premier and Standard policies, the excess is banded, starting at £0 and moving up to £1,000. However, there is also a compulsory subsidence excess of £1,000.
Yes. We have designed both insurance policies to be very simple with exclusions kept to a minimum. As part of Marks & Spencer Money, we aim for integrity, honesty and reliability in all our communications with you.
Yes. Both policies meet the standards set by mortgage lenders who have a stake in ensuring your home is fully protected against accidents and damage.
Yes and if the lender wants to charge you an "administration fee", we will give you vouchers up to the value of the transfer fee, with a maximum of £40.
There are no forms to fill in. Call 0800 111 4901, a 24-hour service and our trained operators will aim to help and give emergency advice.
You can choose how your claim is settled. We can repair your goods, replace with new goods, or pay out a sum equal to the cost to us of the repair or replacement. For 10% extra value, you can have your claim settled in Marks & Spencer Gift Vouchers.
Most home and contents policies either ask you to state the total rebuilding cost of your home and the total value of your contents, or they set an upper limit. In the event of a claim these values act as maximum limits so you may be underinsured and therefore not receive the full value of your claim. Also if you overstate your values by mistake, you will pay too much premium. We do not have these limits, apart from liability and cash cover, and therefore you cannot be underinsured.
Home insurance policies generally have limits on particular types of items such as freezer contents, bicycles and belongings in the garden, outbuildings or cars. The only inner limits on our policy are £500 for cash, £2m for property owners and personal liability, £10m for domestic employees liability and £40,000 for tenants liability
