Card Security

We're working round the clock to protect you

In store, online or on holiday, wherever you use your M&S Credit Card, our security systems will protect you from fraudulent and unauthorised use.

  • Active fraud monitoring detects anything unusual or suspicious
  • Protection against fraudulent transactions when shopping
  • Chip & PIN prevents card copying and unauthorised use
  • MasterCard SecureCode gives you extra security when you shop online

Active fraud monitoring

Our advanced fraud detection systems monitor your account around the clock, so you can use your M&S Credit Card anywhere and everywhere with confidence, knowing you will not be liable for any fraudulent transactions. You do, however, need to tell us if you don't recognise a transaction on your account. Call our 24 hour helpline on 0845 900 0900.

Chip & PIN

We use the latest Chip & PIN technology to protect you from card fraud. A microchip inside your M&S credit card stores data securely and stops your card details from being copied. And whenever you use your card you'll be asked to enter your 4-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number).

MasterCard SecureCode

MasterCard SecureCode adds an extra layer of security when you shop online with your M&S Credit Card. It's a free service – all you have to do is register online.

Security you can trust

These security systems are in addition to the measures already in place to protect your legal rights and are there to give you the extra peace of mind you expect from M&S.
