Protecting yourself against credit card fraud
The following information will help to keep your M&S Credit Card & transactions as secure as possible.
- Remember to sign your credit card as soon as you receive it and keep it in a safe place
- When selecting a Personal Identification Number (PIN), avoid numbers that can be easily identified with you e.g. birthday, telephone number etc
- Always memorise your PIN and never write it down, especially on anything in your purse/wallet or on the card itself
- Never tell anyone your PIN. Legitimate companies will never ask you for your PIN
- When using your card, shield your credit card number & PIN so that others around you can't copy it
- Keep receipts and credit card statements safe. If you do wish to dispose of them do so carefully
- Be very careful who you give your credit card details to. Don't give out your account number over the phone unless you initiate the call or you know the company is reputable
- When using your card online, never confirm your personal details if requested unless you trust the site
- Report a lost or stolen card immediately. If you have M&S Card Safe call Card Protection Plan Limited (CPP) on 0844 848 5284. Otherwise, please call us immediately on 0845 900 0900
- Always ensure your contact details are up to date so that we can contact you if we are suspicious of any activity on your account
If you have additional cardholders ensure they are also aware of these tips. If you suspect that you are a victim of fraud, call us immediately on 0845 900 0900.
